There are 12.37 Full moons in a year, so every 2.7 years, there is a lunar cycle that has four moons instead of three. On the night of December 31, 2009, on the bloom of a new year, there was a blue moon.

Many titles in the world include "moon," and "blue moon," which undoubtedly suggests a keen interest with the orbiting sphere that circles the earth.
