Speculation as to what is going to happen in the last episode of Series 5 [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], “The Big Bang” has gone into overdrive as so many questions were left unanswered at the end of the superb “The Pandorica Opens”. But here is what we know. Or what we think we know!
Another strong rumour at the moment is that the fascinating River Song is actually a future incarnation of the Doctor. As the Daleks attested in “The Pandorica Opens”, “only the Doctor can fly the Tardis”. River seems to manage okay.
Shortly before the airing of “The Pandorica Opens” the BBC dropped a bit of a clanger admitting that Karen Gillan would be reprising her role as Amy Pond for another series. It is also unlikely that Steven Moffat would give such a popular character such a dark ending, being murdered by a facsimile of a recently believed to deceased fiancé [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]!
This theory does seem extremely unlikely though as there is suggestion that the Doctor taught River to fly the Tardis at some point in her timey wimey existence. The chances are she will escape from the Tardis as she has a “vortex manipulator” – possibly belonging to Captain Jack but that is a theory for another time [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]!

And does River free the Doctor from his prison? As she states when looking round Amy’s house “oh Doctor, why do I let you out?”.
However how will she survive? Did Rory have enough human vestiges to merely stun her? Will time be re-written as this is not one of the fixed points? Or is the story so far all in Amy’s imagination so her death is not real anyway?
