Actually, dragon is the enemy of Miao people. A famous Chinese legend says that the ancestor of Miao, Chi You, fought against dragons dispatched by the Yellow Emperor. Another Miao legend has it that a vicious dragon lives in its palace down in a river. One day an old man and his grandson went fishing in the river.

As the son of the Sun God left for his palace in the heaven, he gave her a pair of silver earrings designed like a lock, hoping that nothing would separate him and his lover. In return, Ah Se also gave the young man a silver necklace with a lock on it, representing that they would be bonded together forever.
