The lesson to be learned by comparing heroes/heroines of action movies to the heroes/heroines (or rather the main characters) of horror movies is that the character's approach and attitude to the main villain determines the movie's direction. The tone and genre of the movie is determined by the character's reaction to fear: one runs from his/her fears the other conquers his/her fears. The lesson is that one’s approach, demeanor, and attitude can influence his/her fate.
