ay we live in a world where globally , over-population , and increased human activity [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], is gradually impacting our environment . We are the only single living life form on earth , that is capable of altering the physical , and biological properties on earth today. It is our natural human intellect and instinct to explore new avenues , and invent new technologies which continue to revolutionize the world , at all costs , and this has been the case since mans early existence.
Dating back to the early 1600 -1900,s , the vast majority of people were settlers or farmers , living their lives on pieces of land which they had purchased , and were totally independent on their own resources . Economics did not dictate as to how they lived their lives , as they were totally self sufficient. In today's world we the people are totally controlled by Economics , and the stability and growth of our economy , and this really does control every measure , on how we live our lives .
Since the time of our early settlers , they to were forced to change , as , the birth of the industrial revolution and mans willingness to better himself captured the world . Some of the most significant advances during this era where the use of Fossil Fuels , Steam Power (fueled by coal) , the introduction of canals, roads , and railroads to open up trade. All these things would change the world forever. With these tools at hand human technology and economic progress , really did gain momentum and we would soon see the development of steam powered ships , trains , the internal combustion engine , and electrical power generation .
So Where Does That Leave Us Today?.
Well we as Humans have created our own new habitat which went from open spaces to big city dwellers , living in cities with a million people or more . The ever growing world population enjoys all the luxuries than man has produced but it is these luxuries that are having a huge impact on our worlds climate today. We are so concerned about our everyday commitments , like paying the bills , putting food on the table [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], saving money for retirement , making sure our kids have a good education , that we don't make time to address the issues that are as important as our environment. This is what I mean when i say we are controlled and consumed by economics .
The farming of old is turned into a commercial business , using chemical on crops to speed up and enhance growth. The average farmer today simply can not afford to do crop rotation ( no seed for one year) to give his land a chance to replenish itself, due to the rising costs of fuel and poor prices for cereal crops. So they are forced to pump chemicals like nitrogen into the soil to propel the growth of what ever crop they are seeding . How long will this soil last before it is totally burned out of all natural nutrients. There has also been growing concern over the medical impact of pesticides, genetically modified organisms and hormones in meat and dairy products . Animals which are raised for human consumption are being fed growth pellets along with their normal diets to produce more mass faster , so they can be shipped off and sent to market. Everything that is natural in our environment is being pushed to its maximum capabilities. Our once clean lakes and rivers are slowly being polluted by corporate industry's , factory's , cities , destroying not only the water , but all that lives within it . How many fresh water lakes do you have in your area?.
So all things considered , things really don't look that great from a environmental stand point . Many may argue that well its not going to happen in my life -time so why worry about it?. That may be true , but what is also true is greenhouse-gas's produce global warming [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which in turn will , and already is , inducing climate change . It is high time that our governments , and polititions , took their heads out of the sand and started passing bills to help restore our environment , instead of using it as a tool for political gai
