Sam and Dean have been hiding Adam at Bobby's but Zachariah manages to find his location by speaking to Adam in his dreams. Adam then vanishes in a flash of blinding white light. [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
The two then take Dean back to Bobby's place where Castiel disappears for a while and then reappears with a body.
Adam is enthusiastic to go along with the angel's plan as they have promised him a reunion with his dead mother. Adam also believes that Sam and Dean cannot be trusted as he has been listening to Zachariah.
Adam was pulled out of heaven by the angels and is going to be a replacement for Dean as Michael's vessel. Although it is not an ideal plan the fact that Adam is Sam's brother and John's son makes him a good enough candidate.
The previous episode of Supernatural had Dean heading towards saying yes to the angels and granting Michael permission to enter his body. However now the angels have grown restless waiting for Dean to succumb to their wishes and have concocted a new plan Dean and Sam will do anything to stop.

Dean and Sam's Brother Adam is Back
Adam awakes in the same room Dean was held in when he was kidnapped by the angels. Zachariah appears to him and tells him that the angels never really wanted Adam as Michael's vessel in the first place. Instead they are using him as bait to get Dean to agree to become Michael's vessel. They figured this plan would work as the WInchester boys have one weakness and that weakness is family.
Sam goes looking for Dean and finds him at a motel. Dean refuses to go home with Sam so Sam brings reinforcements in the form of Castiel.
Sam and Dean enter the room that Adam is being kept in. Dean then tricks Zachariah into calling on Michael by saying that he will agree to be the vessel.
The body that Cas brought back to the boys is in fact Adam [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Sam and Dean's half brother who was eaten by ghouls in a previous episode.

However Dean tells Zachariah one of the conditions he will be accepting on is that Zachariah is killed. Zachariah leans close to Dean and says this will never happen and Dean kills him.
