Obviously, this is an extremely hazardous practice with extremely serious consequences in the event of a misstep or miscalculation on the part of the climber, not to mention the uncontrollable elements of the natural world. For these reasons, free solo climbing cannot be endorsed, encouraged, or recommended as a smart and safe style of rock climbing.
In contrast with the above styles of rock climbing described, free solo climbing, or freesoloing, means the style of rock climbing without using climbing safety gear for protection from death or bodily harm in the event of a fall. Freesoloing is a technical rock climbing discipline pursued by a certain group of rock climbing experts who prefer to rock climb without safety equipment.
Rock climbers choose to aid climb for a number of reasons. Among others, these commonly include:

For those just starting to rock climb or just becoming interested in the practice of rock climbing, commonly used rock climbing terms can be confusing [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] to say the least. Discover what three such terms – aid climbing, free climbing, and free soloing (or free solo climbing) – mean, along with helpful descriptive information about what practicing each climbing discipline entails.
Aid climbing is a style of rock climbing in which the climber uses climbing gear to help propel his or her movement up the rock face in question. In aid climbing, a climber will use pieces of climbing gear, including fixed pieces of protection (such as bolts and pitons) and/or removable pieces of climbing gear (such as camming devices and nuts), usually in conjunction with slings, webbing, and/or carabiners, as handholds and footholds.
Free climbing simply means that the climber uses his or her own power to propel movement up the rock face in question. He or she does not use climbing gear to assist upward progress. The climbing gear is used only for protection from bodily harm and/or death in the event of a fall.

Free climbing is a broad term encompassing many sub-disciplines of rock climbing that are often considered disciplines unto themselves – meaning that certain rock climbers will specialize in one or possibly two of the following areas, often to the exclusion of all other types of rock climbing. Common free climbing disciplines include the following:
Encountering a section of rock, sometimes on a longer, mostly “free” climb [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or even an entire rock face, that cannot be free climbed due to a lack of features to provide hand and footholds;Encountering a section of rock on an established route that is too difficult for the climber in question to free climb; The need for speed, in which a climber decides that he or she can dispatch with a section of the climb faster if aid climbing is used [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], when time is of the essence (such as close to nightfall); andFrustration, particularly on a sport climb, with being unable to complete a sequence of moves after a number of thwarted attempts, prompting the climber to use the quickdraw attached to a fixed expansion bolt to assist in upward movement. What is Free Climbing?
