FFXIV News: Bonuses for FFXI Players
If you have an active Final Fantasy XI subscription when also paying for Final Fantasy XIV,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], yo [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] u will receive a number of bonuses:

FFXI month fee drops from $12.95 to $7.00. Only lasts until January 2011.

An in-game item in [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] FFXIV that grants faster movement.

Transfer your FFXI name to FFXIV. If you are on the “Odin” server of FFXI and your name is “Des Final Fantasy XIV power leveling tiny”,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], your FFXIV name will become “Destiny Odin”.

Square Enix has posted details on exactly how all this works on their website.

Additional Collectors Edition Details
For those of you that are purchasing the collectors edition of FFXIV, an additional “gift” has FinalFantasy XIV account been announced. Once you create your first Final Fantasy XIV character, Square Enix will mail you a piece of paper (a real document Final Fantasy XIV Gil ) that includes your characters name, race, gender, and birthday. Eorzeapedia has some coverage on this.

Gamescom Coverage
