The jays take a peanut fly elsewhere hide the peanut and come back for more. Then they have to go and remember where they put their stash. This keeps them busy for hours and out of the course.
One thing they love to do is set the decorative bird feeders spinning so that seed goes flying out bring an end to ...the yard. I calculate they have an approval with the doves to make sure there is enough seed on the floor for them. This likewise makes it easier for the additional jays and they don’t must fight over a settle on the birdfeeder. It’s really beautiful comic to see what they are up to at any given moment.
