Drawing or sketchbook paper that folds easily works best for these books, although kids can make do with thinner computer printer paper. Fold three-to-five sheets of paper in half. Protect the workspace by setting these pages on a piece of corrugated cardboard and using a pushpin to poke holes one-inch apart along the fold.
Thread a needle with sturdy thread, like quilting thread,Air Max 95 Shoes, and sew up and down through the holes in one direction and then back in the opposite direction. Tie the ends of the thread together with a double knot (the ends will be next to one another). Create three bundles like this.
Line up these three bundles, called signatures, and run thread through the stitches on the outside of the fold. Knot the thread to the stitches. It doesn’t matter if the stitches don’t line up perfectly; this step prevents the signatures from wiggly too much.
